Global Volcanism Program | Image GVP-02998

Seen to the south from Ollalie Butte, sharp-peaked Mount Jefferson rises above a sea of clouds. The Three Sisters and Broken Top volcano appear on the horizon to the left. Youthful-looking volcanic cones north of Jefferson are, like Jefferson, late Pleistocene in age, but younger cones are found south of Jefferson. Photo by Lee Siebert, 1995 (Smithsonian Institution).
