The lava dome emplaced in 1921 on the floor of the summit crater of Lewotobi Perempuan is seen from the NW crater rim in 1925. The 35-m-high dome was formed during the first of two historical eruptions. In contrast, Lewotobi Lakilaki, has erupted frequently since the 19th century. Photo published in Kemmerling 1929,
