 Vegetation molds in a soil beneath a pyroclastic-surge deposit from Columba volcano were radiocarbon dated at 6,590 ± 200 and 6,560 ± 130 BP (corrected ages 5,551 BP and 5,510 BP; ranges 5,070-5,900 BP) (Gonzalez Cardenas et al., 2007).
