Cerro Evermann is a large tephra cone and lava dome complex that forms the 1050-m-high summit of Socorro volcano. It and other pyroclastic cones and lava domes largely fill a 4.5 x 3.8 km wide caldera at the summit of the Socorro shield volcano. Historical eruptions at Socorro have been restricted to flank vents.
